Journey through the Peaks 1 night / 2 days tour to Nakhal, Wadi Bani Awf and Al Hamra

08:00 - From Muscat we start our journey toward to a small town of Nakhal. Here we are going to visit an impressive and massive Nakhal Fort built on a rocky outcrop and looking out over extensive date plantations watering by the spring water from the wadi. You can have a short break and try this pleasant warm springs.
The entrance to Wadi Bani Awf is just 30 minutes driving from Nakhal. Here our adventure begins! This place is one of the most spectacular and dramatic wadis in Oman. By noon time, we arrive to the guests house in the middle of the moutains, have a tasty lunch and have a short break relaxing in the shade of traditional Majlis.
After lunch we are going to explore the prettiest village in the country. The route cuts right to the base of the massive north face of Jabal Shams and nestled at the base of this 1,100m cliff is the picturesque village Balad Sayt.
Return to the guest house, enjoy the dinner and get ready for overnight.
Overnight at Bimah Guest House
Al Sharaf, Al Hoota, Al Hamra, Bahla, Birkat Al Mowz
After breakfast, we continue our journey driving up of Al Sharaf (elevation 2010m) and lead to Al Hoota Cave. Once complete the tour inside the cave, we arrive to Al Hamra for a stop at 400 years old heritage house of Bait Al Safah. Have a short break, test an Arabic coffee with dates and learn how Omani women and children live their daily life.
Next point of our interest is Bahla Fort, an official UNESCO heritage side. By this time, we ned to stop for lunch at the local restaurant with traditional food.
On the way back to Muscat, we drive through a beautiful oasis at Birkat Al Mowz.

Please make sure to wear a comfortable cotton cloths and hiking shoes as we are going to hike inside of the Canyon. It is advisable to have a small backpack for hiking as well. Sun glasses and a hat are compulsory.
During winter time the weather on the top of Al Sharaf is a bit freezing (about 10-15C in the afternoon and 0-4C at night). So, do not forget a warm clothes including hat and gloves.
Children of any age are welcomed but should be accompanied by their parents.
